McKinney, Texas — The McKinney ISD Board of Trustees approved notable pay increases for teachers and staff for the 2026–2027 school year, again reinforcing its commitment to retaining top talent and rewarding the exceptional work of its staff. The board approved the new compensation package at its April board meeting.
The approved raises include:
A new starting salary of $64,700 for first-year teachers (plus benefit contributions for a total compensation package of
$68,372 for first-year teachers)
A $66,200 starting salary for teachers with a master's degree
A 3.5% pay increase based on their salary midpoint for all staff
Expanded stipends:
Special Education/Resource — $5,000
Special Education/Specialized Programs — $8,000 (
ALC, STC, DSSC, FAC, Transition, ECSE)
Bilingual — $5,000
Master's — $1,500
Doctorate — $1,500
