McKinney, Texas — McKinney ISD and McKinney High School have been honored by Summit K12, earning prestigious Summies Awards, for outstanding achievement and dedication in educating emergent bilingual students across Texas.

Among more than 650 districts statewide using Summit K12 programs, McKinney ISD earned the distinction of 3rd Place Medium District of the Year, while McKinney High School was ranked the 5th Place High School Campus of the Year among more than 4,000 campuses.

The Summies Awards are based on multiple measures, including TELPAS scores and growth, Summit K12 program usage, and the effective implementation of instructional strategies that accelerate language development and academic success.

These recognitions celebrate McKinney ISD’s and McKinney High School’s dedication to fostering language proficiency, academic excellence and equitable opportunities for emergent bilingual learners, as they strive to reach every student, every day.
