Please join us in congratulating the 2024–2025 Wind Ensemble (Varsity) for being named a National Winner in the Mark of Excellence New Music Division and also a Commended Winner in the Mark of Excellence by The Foundation for Music Education. This marks the first time in McKinney High School history that one of our concert band ensembles has received the National Winner recognition.
Additionally, the 2024–2025 Wind Symphony (Non-Varsity) was named a Commended Winner in the Citation of Excellence by The Foundation for Music Education. This is also a first in school history for a non-varsity concert band ensemble to receive this honor.
The Mark of Excellence and Citation of Excellence awards are national programs that recognize outstanding achievement in performance and recording quality. Ensembles submit live recordings, which are then reviewed and ranked by nationally recognized adjudicators.
