McKinney, Texas — It was an evening of transition for the McKinney ISD Board of Trustees on Tuesday night as Judge Paul Raleeh administered the oath of office for four recently-elected board members: incumbents Larry Jagours (Place 1) and Harvey Oaxaca (Place 7)—who each ran unopposed in the May 3 election—and Kenneth Ussery (Place 2) and Corey Homer (Place 3).

None of the newly sworn in members is a stranger to MISD. Oaxaca and Jagours each have a long history as educators in MISD and have served on the board of trustees since 2021.

Homer also served as an educator in the district, most recently as an assistant athletic director. Ussery is a former board member who relinquished his seat in 2019, in accordance with TASB guidelines, because he planned to move to a residence located outside of his board zone. Now, he is back to serve on the board once more.
