How to Use the Message Center in Family Access?
How to Use the Skyward Message Center
The Skyward Family Access Message Center makes it easy for parents and guardians to communicate with teachers, coaches, and school staff directly through Skyward.
Step 1: Log in through our MISD portal: https://portal.mckinneyisd.net
Go to Skyward
Sign in using the button at the bottom "Sign in with McKinney SSO".
If you have more than one student, select the student you would like to view.
Step 2: Open the Message Center
From the Family Access home screen, locate My Messages at the top of the page.
You will see your inbox.
You will see messages sent to you by teachers, campus staff, and other district staff who use Skyward messaging.
Step 3: Read a Message
Select the message you would like to read.
Review the message and any attachments or additional information.
If a response is requested, select Reply (if available) and enter your response.
Note: You will receive a notification in your email, but you will need to go to Skyward Family Access for two way communication.
Helpful Tips
Check your Message Center regularly for important school and classroom communication.
You may receive notifications when new messages are available, depending on your district settings.
Use Skyward messaging when communicating about your student's school-related questions or needs.
