The MISD Department of Childcare Programs proudly offers employee childcare for children or grandchildren of current MISD employees. Programs are tuition based and are provided on all school days and required teacher/staff workdays. We provide all day care for ages 6 weeks to pre-kindergarten age. Children are placed into groups based on their age on September 1st.

Academy Week is a child care option for MISD employees. Academy Week will be held at Minshew Elementary from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. August 1–8 (6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on August 3) and is for incoming Kindergarten – incoming 5th grade students. Registration is required and availability is limited so register today to secure a spot for your child/children. For additional Academy Week details and daily activities, click on the link below. McKinney ISD offers childcare from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for ages 6 weeks – 17 months at our Lawson Early Childhood School.

McKinney ISD offers employee preschool programs at McKinney High School, McKinney Boyd High School, and McKinney North High School. In addition, a preschool experience is also available from 6:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. for children 2 years – prekindergarten (children who are younger than 5 years on Sept. 1).

McKinney High Preschool will offer preschool for children 18 – 23 months at their campus.

All preschools are under the direction of a certified teacher and a highly trained staff. The centers are licensed by the Department of Family and Protective Services and are inspected regularly.
