Accelerated Courses for Original Credit

McKinney ISD students have the opportunity to accelerate their coursework by enrolling in additional online courses. These courses are available to current MISD students entering grades 9–12 in the 2026–27 school year. Courses are self-paced and taught by MISD teachers through the Canvas LMS platform. Students may enroll in two courses (1.0 credit) during the summer term.

Rising 9th-12th Grade Courses:

• Professional Communication 0.5 credit

• Health 0.5 credit

• Foundations of Personal Fitness PE A 0.5 credit

• Fitness for Life PE B 0.5 credits

• Art I A 0.5 credit (recommended to take both semesters online) Supply List for Art 1 A & B Online

• Art I B 0.5 credit (recommended to take both semesters online) Supply List for Art 1 A & B Online

Rising 10th-12th Grade Courses:

• Sociology 0.5 credit

• Psychology 0.5 credit

Rising 11th-12th Grade Courses:

• Government 0.5 credit

• Economics with Personal Financial Literacy and Economics  1.0 credit

• English IV A 0.5 credit

• English IV B 0.5 credit

Credit Recovery Courses

McKinney ISD students have the option to take online courses to recover credit if they fail a course or semester. These courses are available to current MISD students entering grades 10–12 in the 2026–27 school year. Courses are self-paced and taught by MISD teachers through the Canvas LMS platform. Students may enroll in two courses (1.0 credit) during the summer term.
