Summer School Informational Webinar
MISD students currently in grades 8-12 have the opportunity to enroll in online courses to accelerate their coursework or recover credits through online learning. We invite you to join us for an informational webinar on March 26 from 5:30-6:30 PM to learn more about these opportunities and the enrollment process.

McKinney ISD Summer School Information
Summer School Dates:
June 1: Canvas Course Opens at 8:00 AM
June 19: Canvas Course Closes at 9:00 AM - All coursework must be completed before 9:00 AM
Students with less than 50% of the course completed on June 18 at 9:00 AM will be dropped from the course.
Summer School teachers will send a welcome email to students and their parents/guardians on May 28, 2026. If you do not receive your welcome email by 1:00 PM on this date, please contact the summer school office. summerschool@mckinneyisd.net
Courses are approved by your child’s counselor during the registration process.
Accelerated Courses for Original Credit
McKinney ISD students have the opportunity to accelerate their coursework by enrolling in additional online courses. These courses are available to current MISD students entering grades 9–12 in the 2026–27 school year. Courses are self-paced and taught by MISD teachers through the Canvas LMS platform. Students may enroll in two courses (1.0 credit) during the summer term.
Registration Opens: April 7, 2026
Registration Closes: April 20, 2026
Payment Deadline: April 22, 2026
Tuition: $225 per course (semester) or $50 per course (semester) for students receiving free/reduced lunch or currently enrolled in the AVID elective.
Tuition is paid online through My School Bucks during the registration process. Your registration is not complete until tuition payment is submitted and a receipt is received from My School Bucks.

Rising 11th-12th Grade Courses:

English 4B 0.5 credit
Credit Recovery Courses
McKinney ISD students have the option of taking online courses to recover credit if they fail a course/semester. These courses are available to current MISD students entering grades 10–12 in the 2026–27 school year. Courses are self-paced and taught by MISD teachers through the Canvas LMS platform.
