Errin French is an educator with 33 years of experience, 20 of those in MISD. She is currently serving in the role of Director of Guidance and Counseling. She has a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from the University of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio. She began teaching in Houston ISD and then Katy ISD as a 3rd grade teacher for 8 years. She received her master’s in counseling from Prairie View A&M in 2000 and served as a middle school counselor for 20 years, with 15 of those years at Evans Middle School.
During her tenure as a school counselor, Errin has served in many leadership roles holding positions such as Middle School Lead Counselor, Middle School Naviance Coordinator, Counselor Advisory Team Member, and Coordinator of Counseling at the district level. Errin has also served on the Texas School Counselor Advisory Board for several years.Errin trains counselors yearly across the state presenting at conferences such as LSSSCA, TCA, Region 7, and TSCA to name a few.
In 2017, Errin was named Counselor of the Year for MISD, and was then named 2017 Texas Counselor of the Year from TSCA-Texas School Counselor Association.Errin is very proud of co-implementing the first ever “Calming Room” at Evans Middle School in 2020 to help support students with emotional regulation and stress management skills.Errin loves to grow her fellow counselors and support them in any way.
