Corey Homer is a dedicated and passionate member of the McKinney ISD School Board, bringing over two decades of experience in public education to the role.

During his time in education, Corey served as the Assistant Director of Athletics and MISD Stadium Manager, as well as a teacher/coach at McKinney North High School. Before joining McKinney ISD, he served as the Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at Mt. Pleasant ISD and also spent time as a teacher/coach at Plano East Senior High School and John Tyler High School.

Corey’s connection to the McKinney ISD community runs deep. His wife, Casie, works at McKinney High School, and their daughter, Lucy, currently attends Valley Creek Elementary. As a parent and educator, Corey brings a unique and valuable perspective to the board, understanding both the challenges and opportunities that students, parents and educators face within the district.

A strong advocate for the needs of students, Corey is committed to fostering an environment of academic excellence, equity and community engagement. He strives to make a positive impact both within the school district and on the board, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to succeed and thrive.

Corey holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Texas A&M University-Commerce (2001) and a Master of Science in Education (2002). After a successful 20-year career in public education, with 12 of those years in McKinney ISD, Corey transitioned to commercial real estate in North Texas in 2022.

Now serving as a Trustee, Corey is excited to continue his service to McKinney ISD and is proud to be a leader in the local community. He is dedicated to working collaboratively with fellow board members, educators, families and the wider community to ensure the best outcomes for every student.
