Listing An Item on the Community Folder
As a service to McKinney ISD students and families the district provides the Community Folder for school related, non-school related and non-profit organizations. Electronic communication has become standard and is preferred by many parents; the schools are sharing more and more information via email as a convenience to parents and cuts back on paper. Information posted and accepted must be youth-oriented, and will be reviewed and approved by the Communications Department. Updates will be posted often, so we ask that you check back for the latest opportunities and information from our community.
Non-profit groups will be allowed to post information at no cost. For-profit groups will be asked to make a $250 donation for the year in exchange for the opportunity to post one flyer on the website and have the flyer linked in one parent and staff newsletter. All flyers expire at the end of each school year. Approval of flyers may take up to three to four business days.

Your Voice Your Future: Take the MIC!
On Saturday, August 29, we’re hosting Your Voice, Your Future: Take the MIC at McKinney City Hall. The goal is to give students an opportunity to share their perspectives, ask questions, and have meaningful conversations about the issues that matter to them and the future of their community. We’ll have both McKinney ISD School Board members and McKinney City Council members present, which I think makes this a really unique opportunity for students to engage directly with leaders who represent them at both the school district and city level.
