Jae Gaskill

Senior Director of Career & Technical Education

Jae Gaskill has dedicated over 32 years to public education, serving as a teacher, coach, assistant principal, associate principal, and principal. She currently serves as Senior Director of Career and Technical Education (CTE) for McKinney ISD, where she oversees CTE programs, AVID, PALS, and student clubs and organizations across the district.

Gaskill began her career as a science teacher and coach in her hometown of Leonard, TX. She later moved to Allen ISD, where she taught and coached for four years before transitioning into school administration. In 2007, she joined McKinney ISD as Associate Principal of McKinney North High School and, in 2016, was named Principal. As principal, she focused on creating a welcoming campus culture, fostering a love of learning, and preparing students for success beyond high school.

In her current role, Gaskill partners with campus leaders, CTE educators, business partners, and state organizations to expand opportunities, support student success, and strengthen the McKinney community.

She earned a Bachelor of Science from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Master’s in Education from Texas A&M–Commerce. Her leadership has been recognized regionally, as she was named Region X Assistant Principal of the Year in 2010 and Region X Principal of the Year in 2019.

McKinney ISD CTE programs will offer all students pathways to high-demand, high-wage careers. Through a blend of technical skills, critical thinking, and career-focused experiences, CTE prepares students for success in post-secondary education and future careers, adaptability, personal development, and financial independence.

Our Criteria for a Successful Program

Hands-on Learning: Students participate in real-world projects, simulations, and internships that mirror industry tasks, such as building prototypes, running simulations, or working in local businesses.
Industry-Aligned Curriculum: Courses are designed in collaboration with local employers and industry experts, ensuring the skills and knowledge students gain are directly relevant to current job market demands.
Career Exploration: Students are exposed to different career pathways, with opportunities for job shadowing, career fairs, and mentorship programs that connect them with professionals in various industries.
Certification and Credentials: Students have the opportunity to earn industry-recognized certifications and credentials (e.g., CNA -Certified Nurse Aide, Microsoft Office Specialist, or welding certifications) that enhance their employability right after high school.
Post-Secondary Preparation: CTE programs support both direct-to-career paths and those seeking further education, with clear articulation agreements for college credit or apprenticeships, ensuring seamless transitions from high school to college or trade schools.
