For adolescents recovering from substance abuse, returning to a traditional high school environment can present steep challenges. That’s where Serenity High steps in.

Founded in 1999 by Neil and Lynn Sperry, this fully accredited McKinney ISD program offers a safe, chemical-free environment for students who have completed drug and alcohol treatment to earn their diplomas. Since its inception, more than 300 students have successfully graduated through the program.

Serenity High currently partners with 13 nearby school districts, which pay a daily enrollment fee, so local students can access this critical support. To ensure the school continues to fulfill its life-changing mission, Serenity hosts an annual fundraising breakfast to support its students and long-term vision.
