The Importance of Parent Organizations
The purpose of Texas PTA is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. Composed of PTA members from our community, the McKinney ISD Council of PTAs supports Texas PTA's mission and works to unify and strengthen all local PTAs on the campus level.
Additionally, one of the important values embraced by PTA is collaboration. To that end, the McKinney ISD Council of PTAs has launched an initiative to collaborate with all parent-teacher groups across McKinney ISD, reflecting the belief that we are stronger together and united by a shared purpose: advocating for all children. By working side by side with PTAs, PTOs and other campus organizations, we are building bridges that strengthen our schools and better serve every student. Through shared advocacy, open communication, and mutual support, parent groups across the district are uniting to ensure all families feel connected, valued, and empowered—because when we come together as one community, our children thrive.
Redistricting brings change, and change can be challenging. New campuses, new neighborhoods, and new routines may feel unfamiliar at first. Yet these transitions also offer opportunities to build fresh connections and strengthen our sense of community. PTA and PTO leaders across McKinney ISD are working together to ensure that every student and family feels supported during this time of growth and transition.
As families move to new schools, parent organizations are committed to opening their doors wide—welcoming new faces, honoring traditions, and creating spaces where everyone belongs. Whether a family is joining a brand-new campus or transitioning to an established one, we believe that strong parent involvement is key to student success.
We invite every parent and caregiver to join the parent organization at your child’s campus. Your voice, time, and ideas matter. Together, through collaboration and shared advocacy, PTA and PTOs in McKinney ISD will continue to support all students and help our school communities grow stronger—one campus, one family, and one child at a time.
