High School Summer Programs
High School Summer School
Credit Recovery, Acceleration, & HB 1416 Laptop Pickup.
Students must be registered for High School Summer School or HB 1416 to pickup a laptop. Students are not required to take a district laptop. However, we can only troubleshoot technology issues on district provided laptops.
(Current 8th–12th Grade Students)
May 28 & 29 (all laptops will travel to each HS)

High School Summer School Student Handbook
Accelerated Courses for Original Credit
McKinney ISD students have the option of accelerating their course work by taking additional courses online. These courses are available for current MISD students who will be in grades 9-12 during the 25-26 school year. Courses are self-paced and taught by MISD teachers through the Canvas LMS platform. Students may take one course/semester (.5 credit) during the summer term unless noted otherwise.
Summer School Dates:
June 2: Canvas Courses Open at 8:00 AM
June 20: Canvas Courses Close at 11:00 AM. All coursework including projects, exams, etc. Must be completed before 11:00 AM.*
*No refunds or extensions will be granted for students who miss the deadline.
Tuition is $225 per course (semester) or $50 per course (semester) for students receiving free/reduced lunch or currently enrolled in the AVID elective.
Registration Opens: April 4, 2025
Registration Closes: April 17, 2025
Payment Deadline: April 23, 2025 at 5:00 PM
Tuition is paid online through My School Bucks during the registration process. You are not fully registered until you have paid your tuition online and received a receipt from My School Bucks.
No extensions will be given if you do not register and make payment by the deadline.

Summer School teachers will send a welcome email to students and their parents/guardians on May 29, 2025. If you do not receive your welcome email by 1:00 PM on this date, please contact the summer school office summerschool@mckinneyisd.net

Secondary Summer Success
MISD will offer free (not for credit) online courses for students in grades 6-12. Students will have the opportunity to take self paced online courses to ensure they are ready for the next grade level or to prepare for college readiness exams. All courses are self paced and can be completed anytime between June 2-June 27. Students can self enroll in any course starting June 2.

Scope Camp Create
SCOPE CAMP CREATE is A Fun-Filled SUMMER ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT CAMP FOR 25-26 3rd - 12th GRADE GT AND HIGH ABILITY STUDENTS IN MCKINNEY ISD. Whatever your child's interests and abilities, you'll find SCOPE Camp CREATE fits his or her needs.
Location: Cockrill Middle School
June 16th - 19th from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM.
Doors open for drop off at 7:45.
