As we begin preparing for the 2026–2027 school year, we want to share some important information. McKinney ISD is transitioning from eSchool to Skyward during this summer and it will change how enrollment and registration occur.
In previous years, enrollment and returning registration occurred simultaneously.

• New Student Enrollment:

  • Parents access the McKinney ISD website to enroll

  • Opens March 2, 2026 for:

    • Students new to McKinney ISD

    • Students entering Kindergarten

    • Students previously withdrawn and returning

• Returning Student Questionnaire: 

  • Will be sent via email: March 30, 2026 

    • Also includes the Transportation Guidelines & Bus Acknowledgement

    • Due: April 13, 2026

• Back-to-School Forms: 

  • 🆕 Due to our new registration and parent portal system - Required for all new and returning students: Opens the week of July 6, 2026

    • Parent acknowledgements

    • Student handbook agreements

    • Health and medical updates

    • Emergency contact verification

    • Technology agreements

    • Proof of residency upload

Our goal is to ensure every family is informed, prepared, and ready for a smooth start in August.

Students are not fully registered until all forms are completed.

Immunization: By law, parents must also provide updated immunization records (if necessary) before school begins in order to attend class. 

Proof of Residency: Families must provide proof of residency each year in order to complete the student enrollment and registration process.
