Mane Street Salon – Cosmetology Program

The McKinney High School Cosmetology Program, Mane Street Salon, is a comprehensive two-year program approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). This program is designed to prepare students for success in the cosmetology industry through a combination of academic coursework and hands-on training.

Students earn the required 1,000 state-regulated hours upon completion of the program. Throughout their training, student professionals develop a strong foundation in the knowledge, technical skills, and industry practices essential for a successful career in cosmetology.

Our curriculum blends classroom instruction with real-world, hands-on experience in a salon setting. Students engage in creative, practical, and career-focused activities that build confidence, professionalism, and workforce readiness.

The program is fully aligned with the standards and regulations set by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation and meets all requirements for public secondary cosmetology programs.

Grade Levels Served:
11th-12th Grade. Students who are interested will apply during the 2nd semester of their sophomore year. Grades, attendance, and behaviors will be taken into consideration as there are at most 25 spots available.
