We are beyond proud to announce that the 2025–2026 McKinney High School Wind Ensemble has been named a National Winner in the 2026 Mark of Excellence / National Wind Band Honors project by The Foundation for Music Education!

Out of 525 entries across 40 states, top adjudicators selected MHS to receive this prestigious honor—awarded to only the top tier of ensembles nationwide.

This marks just the second time in MHS history that the Wind Ensemble has achieved this honor, and the first time since 2019! Congratulations to our incredible student musicians and directors on this historic achievement!
