“I know it must have been tough, leaving your friends & family, but because of your service we get to live in a free country.” 5th Grader, Belamy Smith, expressed her gratitude for the members of the United States Armed Forces along with her fellow Gators as Frazier Elementary celebrated Veterans Day.

The Frazier choir and the McKinney North High School orchestra filled the gymnasium with patriotic music, and the hallways were decorated with artistic tributes from the students, as well as a “roll call” mural commemorating all of the veterans associated with Frazier Elementary.
From Frazier Principal Amy Holderman: “On behalf of all of our Gators, we want to give you an appreciation for your dedication and for your service. We would not be here today in our awesome school community if it wasn’t for you.”

Latin American Drumming at Frazier Elementary - National Hispanic Heritage Month

“This is a fun piece because it introduces them to the Latin feel with the clave rhythm.” Music teacher Holly Bianchetta likes to challenge her 5th graders at Frazier Elementary during National Hispanic Heritage Month with a 4-beat Latin American rhythm. The complicated beats and patterns require lots of listening and concentration from the students. Here’s one of her classes in the beginning stages of this musical creation. They will be adding instruments as they progress, and Mrs. Bianchetta is confident in their skills.
“It’s really cool to see how quickly kids can absorb something and make it their own.”

Students will enjoy the story, "Read It, Don't Eat It" to learn about book care. They also have the opportunity to participate in Makerspace , as they build with LEGOs while they wait their turn to select a book of interest.

Today was our Big Kahuna PTO/Principal's Kickoff! Our fundraiser runs through Monday, September 16. Bring your tickets, signed by your parent/guardian, each day to redeem for collectables!
Superintendent Shawn Pratt and Deputy Superintendent Melanie Raleeh stopped by Frazier today to see all the awesome learning happening at Frazier Elementary. #TeamMcKinney
