Focus Period Update
New to Faubion this year was our Focus Period, which is named aptly as it has a strong instructional focus and is geared toward helping students be more organized, stay on top of their academic progress, and learn to email their parents.
We developed our plan based on a survey sent at the end of last year, a student advisory group, a focus period coalition, and our Site-Based Decision Making team. Just like every great organization, we will constantly review the effectiveness of our work and make needed adjustments.
Given our recent feedback collected and data review, our plans for Focus period for the second quarter will follow this schedule and have these adjustments:
More IXL time
One-page grade tracker instead of multiple pages
Campus announcements at the start of Focus period
Floater teachers to support CHAMP day
SAT/ACT Pathways in IXL
Focus period folder for CHAMP day and notebooks for IXL days
