Wow! What a great event this evening and we had a packed Bear Den!!! 3-5 Fine Arts night was a huge success! Our 3rd graders performed, the Bennett Bear Choir performed, and every 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders student had a piece of art on display!

Congratulations to Bennett Elementary! For the 5th consecutive year, Bennett Elementary has earned the prestigious CREST counseling award! The dedication of our school counselor, Christie Jimmerson, our Administrators, and our school staff are the reason Bennett has earned this award for the 5th time! Bennett will be recognized an an upcoming MISD school board meeting.

3rd grade is preparing for Thursday!! Our program starts at 5:45pm!

Thanks to our Sunshine group, the staff enjoyed hot chocolate and cookie exchange. It was a great way to kick off the month of December and celebrate the holidays.

On Friday, we celebrated our student's at the November Bennett Live! It was such a great way to end the week and begin our Thanksgiving break.

2nd graders expanded their coding knowledge this week with Dash and the Blockly app. Students learned about the parts, how to use the robots safely, and how to use block coding. Together they had to problem solve learning a new way to code.

3rd grade applied their know of mechanical energy by building marble roller coasters this week. After a brief vocabulary review, students planned their design, built the structure, then tested and revised. They were challenged to include at least 1 hill, 1 loop, and exit path.

It's showtime! Movie night at Bennett is such a great way to spend time with friends! Thank you to our PTO for organizing this event!

We did it!! Our Book Fair was a huge success and one our students will always remember! Thank you to our volunteers, families, and staff for helping continue to bring great programming and new books to the Bennett community!

Today the Bennett staff met with Sharon Sovereign to discuss creating clarity in lessons by unpacking standards. Lots of great learning moments exploring the value of working as a team to plan.

Our Fall Book Fair has been so much fun! We have lots of #bookjoy to celebrate. Students from ALL classes visited to make their wish lists, an anonymous donor treated a 2nd grade class with 1 new book each, siblings choose new stories for sibling surprises, and the library was able to add over $200 of books to the library and to our stock of prizes.
