The Oklahoma baseball team captured its first NCAA championship since 1994 this year and that made for a celebratory occasion for several Metroplex standouts.
The Sooners got the better of a winner-take-all showdown with No. 5-ranked North Carolina, rolling to a 13-2 victory in Game 3 of their College World Series championship series from Omaha's Charles Schwab Field, and they did so with a starting lineup that included Lovejoy alum Kyle Branch and Plano East alum Dasan Harris, as well as McKinney Boyd alum Nick Wesloski earning the start on the mound.
