The Board of Trustees approved a recommendation for a new elementary school attendance zone for Frazier Elementary School. The change will relieve overcrowding at Press Elementary School and allow for future enrollment growth at both Frazier and Press. The portion of the Press Elementary School zone that was west of HWY 75 and north of Bloomdale Road will now attend Frazier Elementary School. This includes all of the Trinity Falls Development. Under the new attendance zones Press Elementary will open with 502 students next year and Frazier Elementary will open with 437 students. Trinity Falls is the fastest growing development in McKinney ISD and the new zones will address current capacity issues, while at the same time allowing for future growth at the school.
The McKinney Education Foundation made their annual festive rounds last Friday to delivery teacher classroom and professional development grants. This year, MEF awarded more than $125,000 of the grants which are funded through donations and dedicated endowments.
