What types of absences count against the 90% Attendance Rule?

The following types of absences count against your student’s attendance under the 90% attendance law:

• Vacations

• Absences excused by a parent/guardian note

• Attendance at non-school-sponsored events

• Attendance at non-UIL-sponsored events

Please note that while some absences may be excused, they still count toward the 90% attendance requirement. If you have questions about specific absences, please contact your student’s House Office.
