My student is going on a college/trade school/university visit. What's the procedure?
During your student’s junior or senior year, they may take up to two (2) days to visit a college or university to explore their interest in attending. Here’s what you need to do:
Request the Visit:
Notify the school ahead of time about the planned visit.
The visit must be to an accredited institution of higher education.
Required Documentation:
Obtain a letter from the college or university confirming your student’s visit, including the specific date(s) they attended.
The letter must be signed by a school official at the institution.
Note: Brochures, flyers, or emails are not acceptable forms of documentation.
Travel Days:
Travel days to and from the college visit cannot be excused.
Make sure to submit the documentation to your student’s House Office to have the absence coded correctly. If you need further assistance, contact your student’s House Office.
