Student Health Concerns
If your student has any new health concerns or has been diagnosed with a new chronic health condition, please:

  • Complete the online health history form during registration

  • Contact Nurse Shannon directly to discuss any specific needs for this school year

Please note that this form must be updated each school year. Your prompt attention to this is greatly appreciated.

No Tolerance Policy for Medication Possession
MISD strictly prohibits students from carrying any form of medication unless there is an approved health plan on file through the clinic.

Medications in the Clinic
All medications administered at school must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be brought to the clinic by a parent or guardian

  • Must be in the original container, with a maximum of a one-month supply (large quantity bottles will not be accepted)

  • Must not be expired

  • Must be accompanied by all required forms, signed by both a parent and a physician

Medication forms can be found on the MISD website:
Go to www.mckinneyisd.net > Departments & Services > Health Services & Wellness > Health Information and Forms.

Medication Drop-Off Schedule
Medications, completed paperwork, and any necessary supplies may be dropped off by a parent or guardian on the following dates:

If you are unable to attend during these times, please call the clinic to schedule an appointment. Walk-ins may experience delays if the nurse is unavailable or in a meeting.

Please note: No medications will be accepted on the first day of school.
All medication paperwork must be fully completed and signed by both a parent and physician before drop-off.

All students new to MISD will receive vision and hearing screenings throughout the school year.
