Clubs and Organizations

MISD students may participate in a variety of clubs and organizations. Clubs and organizations are defined as:

  • Curricular Club/Organization: related to instruction or TEKS in a specific course, ie. French Club (student club) or HOSA (student organization).

  • Non-Curricular Club/Organization: not related to instruction in any particular course, ie. Chess Club (student club) or Young Life (student organization)

In alignment with Senate Bill 12, McKinney ISD will now require parent or guardian consent for students to participate in any campus club. This process ensures that families are informed about the organizations and activities their child chooses to join.

Starting a Club or Organization

Have an idea for a new club? The Student/Club Organization Application form has an overview of the requirements to start a new club or organization. All clubs must have an MISD staff member sponsor, and the sponsor must complete the MISD Sponsor Acknowledgement form in addition to the student application.

All clubs/organizations must be approved annually by central office staff and follow campus and district policies, including FNAB(LOCAL) and SB 12 from the 89th Legislative Session.
