How does the district notify parents that students are absent from school?
View attendance records in real time by accessing the MISD Home Access Center.
To access the Home Access Center, you must sign into the MISD Portal. If you need help accessing your parent account, please visit MISD Portal Login Information for assistance.
Automated Notifications: Daily phone calls, emails, and text messages regarding absences and tardies.
Attendance Warning Letters: Sent after 3, 7, and 10 unexcused absences.
Possible Loss of Credit Notices: House Offices will notify parents and students of possible loss of credit after the 7th absence. Parent Notes, Doctors Notes, and unexcused absences will count towards 90% Attendance.
Loss of Credit Letters: Issued after the 10th absence in a semester.
We encourage you to monitor your student’s attendance daily. If you notice discrepancies or have concerns, please contact the MHS attendance at MHSAttendance@mckinneyisd.net immediately. Unexcused absences may result in consequences, including a referral to Truancy Court and loss of course credit.
