How does the district notify parents that students are absent from school?

  • View attendance records in real time by accessing the MISD Home Access Center.

  • To access the Home Access Center, you must sign into the MISD Portal. If you need help accessing your parent account, please visit MISD Portal Login Information for assistance.

  • Automated Notifications: Daily phone calls, emails, and text messages regarding absences and tardies.

  • Attendance Warning Letters: Sent after 3, 7, and 10 unexcused absences.

  • Possible Loss of Credit Notices: House Offices will notify parents and students of possible loss of credit after the 7th absence. Parent Notes, Doctors Notes, and unexcused absences will count towards 90% Attendance.

  • Loss of Credit Letters: Issued after the 10th absence in a semester.

We encourage you to monitor your student’s attendance daily. If you notice discrepancies or have concerns, please contact the MHS attendance at MHSAttendance@mckinneyisd.net immediately. Unexcused absences may result in consequences, including a referral to Truancy Court and loss of course credit.
