Broc Boyd

House Principal | McKinney High School | McKinney ISD

Broc Boyd currently serves as a House Principal at McKinney High School, bringing twelve years of dedicated service in public education and a deep commitment to expanding opportunities for all students to grow, succeed, and achieve. Mr. Boyd is broadly recognized for his relentless drive to uplift campus culture, champion academic rigor, and build relationships that transform lives.

Mr. Boyd’s journey in education began in the classroom as an AVID teacher, varsity coach, and coordinator for a total of seven years, where he championed college readiness and equitable access for students who needed it most. Over his years of service, he taught Social Studies and Dual Credit courses across Garland, Richardson, Carrollton-Farmers Branch, and Plano ISDs — shaping young minds in AVID, ESL U.S. History, Human Geography, World Geography, American Studies, AP U.S. History, and AP Government. His dedication to student growth and achievement was honored when he was named Campus Teacher of the Year and awarded the PTA Lifetime Member Award at Vines High School in Plano ISD during the 2021–22 school year.

With a proven record of designing data-informed interventions and leading PBIS and MTSS frameworks, Mr. Boyd transitioned into campus administration first as a Probationary Administrator at Plano Senior High, and then as Dean of Students at Community High School. In these roles, he oversaw safety and security protocols, truancy and attendance interventions, T-TESS evaluations, PLC implementation, and campus-wide instructional improvements — always prioritizing the needs of SPED, 504, ELL, and at-risk learners.

As he joins the leadership team at McKinney High School, Mr. Boyd brings his passion for creating inclusive, high-expectation environments that inspire students and empower educators. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Master of Education from Austin College located in Sherman, Texas, and is certified as a Principal EC–12 and a Composite Social Studies Teacher, with additional Gifted and Talented credentials. Throughout his career, Mr. Boyd has taken great pride in leading by example, driven by his belief that every student deserves a champion who sees their potential and clears a path for them to thrive. He is dedicated to building strong partnerships serving families and the McKinney community, growing teachers’ capacity through collaboration and coaching, and cultivating a campus culture where every student’s voice matters.

Above all, Mr. Boyd’s pedagogy is anchored in the simple but profound truth: “Nobody cares how much you know until they know how much you care.”
