The McKinney High School Dance Department is composed of dedicated students who proudly represent their school with spirit and excellence. At the core of the program are the Marquettes—both Varsity and Junior Varsity—who serve as the school’s official dance teams. They perform at football games, pep rallies, recitals, and competitions, showcasing their talent, discipline, and school pride.
In addition to the dance teams, the program offers studio dance classes for students of all skill levels. These courses provide an engaging and supportive environment while allowing students to earn either physical education or fine arts credit.
Amy Neely
Amy Neely has been an educator at McKinney High School for 26 years. She is a former member of the Kilgore College Rangerettes and the University of North Texas dance team. Ms. Neely is deeply passionate about dance and is committed to supporting her students in achieving success both on and off the stage.
Addrianne Stephens
Addrianne Stephens has been a valued member of the McKinney High School faculty for 18 years. A proud McKinney High School alumna, she earned her degree from Texas Woman’s University. Ms. Stephens is a dedicated educator who is deeply committed to her students and passionate about their growth and success.
Kylie Dauper
Kylie Dauper is in her second year at McKinney High School and her fourth year with the program. She is a former member of the Kilgore College Rangerettes and a graduate of Texas Woman’s University. In addition to teaching Geometry, Ms. Dauper directs the Junior Varsity team and assists with the Varsity program.
The Marquettes’ annual spring show will be held on April 17th and 18th at 7:00 p.m. in the McKinney High School Performing Arts Center. Tickets will be available for purchase online as the event date approaches.
The Marquettes host tryouts for both Varsity and Junior Varsity teams during the spring semester each school year. Tryouts for the upcoming year were recently completed on March 11th.
Students interested in becoming part of the Marquettes program may inquire with the directors about potential opportunities to join the Junior Varsity team. Those interested in Varsity participation will need to audition during the next annual tryout cycle.
Students who wish to participate in dance without auditioning for a team are encouraged to enroll in a dance class when selecting their course schedule.
The Marquettes are supported by the McKinney Marquettes Booster Team, an organization of dedicated parents and volunteers committed to the success of the program. The Booster Team plays a vital role by organizing fundraisers, assisting with costume purchases, working concessions, supporting show preparations, and coordinating various activities throughout the year.
