Program Information

Evans Theatre Mission Statement: The Evans Theatre Department strives to produce students of character with a knowledge and appreciation for theatre while providing beneficial tools for life.

Classes offered: Introductory Theatre; Intermediate Theatre; Advanced Theatre; Technical Theatre 1 and 2.

Director

Jeni Eberhard (Ebs) is going into her 25th year teaching theatre. This is her 12th year at Evans. She grew up in Plano and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre and Communications with Secondary Education from Sterling College in Kansas. Previously, she's been a theatre director in Plano ISD and private schools. When not teaching and directing at Evans, Jeni enjoys family time with her husband and 5 kiddos. You can catch her onstage performing improv at The Comedy Arena in downtown McKinney. She is passionate about teaching theatre and hopes to support each of her students on their journey to BE BRILLIANT!

Aug. 27th- Once Upon a Mattress AUDITION WORKSHOP 4:10-5:10 in C114 (anyone interested in auditioning is welcome!)

Sept. 15-REQUIRED Once Upon a Mattress parent meeting 5:30-6:16 in EMS cafeteria

Audition Information

Audition information will be posted here for each main stage show as well as posted on the theatre call board in the fine arts hallway (C hall). You can always stop by the theatre room C114 with any questions. Or reach out to the director, Mrs. Ebs, with an email to jeberhard@mckinneyisd.net.

Auditions for 2026-2027 Advanced Theatre and Theatre 2 classes have closed.

August 31st-Sept. 3 Once Upon a Mattress AUDITIONS. Any EMS student can audition for onstage roles or interview for backstage positions. See call board in fine arts hallway for sign ups.
