McKINNEY--Seven individuals and one team will join the McKinney ISD Athletics Hall of Honor next year.
The 2026 class includes Donte Wilson and Tommy Winburn in the Senior Era, Johnny Bollins Holley, Michael Dauterive, Matt Lipka, and Brittany Parker in the Modern Era, Otis Fields in the Legends category, and the 1958 McKinney High School football team.
The group will be officially inducted in January 2026 as the twelfth class since the Hall of Honor was established in 2013.
A 1996 McKinney High School graduate, Wilson was a standout basketball guard who later played at South Plains College and San Diego State. He is currently the head boys basketball coach at Fairfield and has earned more than 250 career wins.
Winburn, a 1988 MHS graduate, was an all-state tight end for the Lions’ football team that advanced to the 4A state championship game in 1986. After starting in 52 games in four seasons at MHS, he played briefly at TCU before an injury ended his career. Winburn passed away in 2015.
Holley, the son of Class of 2020 Hall of Honor inductee Johnny Holley Sr., was an integral part of McKinney’s standout basketball teams of the mid-1990s. An all-state forward in 1997, he later played at Villanova before knee injuries shortened his career. He is currently a high school principal in the Cleveland area.
A 2010 McKinney Boyd graduate, Dauterive earned McKinney ISD’s first-ever individual wrestling title as a senior when he won the 103-pound title. He compiled a 128-26 career record and continued wrestling at the University of Nebraska and the University of Texas at Arlington, where he was a two-time NWCA All-American..
Lipka, a 2010 MHS graduate, was an all-state performer in both football and baseball. He turned down a football scholarship to the University of Alabama and played professional baseball for more than a decade. He still holds the Lions’ individual records in football for career receptions, season and career receiving yards, and season and career receiving TDs.
A 2006 MHS graduate, Parker won the state pole vault and broke the Class 4A record in the event as a junior. She was selected to USA Today’s All-USA Track and Field team as a senior before competing at the University of Kansas.
Fields was a standout two-way football player and all-state linebacker, as well as a basketball starter for the McKinney Lions in the early 1970s. He later played linebacker at Howard Payne University, where he earned All-Lone Star Conference and All-American honors..
The 1958 McKinney Lions football team advanced to the Class 3A state semifinals, falling to eventual champion Breckenridge. The team averaged 22 points and 330.5 yards per game and featured three all-state players, including future NFL performer and Hall of Honor inductee Tommy Joe Crutcher.
Induction into the Athletic Hall of Honor is the highest honor awarded in McKinney ISD Athletics. The Hall of Honor was established in 2013 to recognize former student-athletes, coaches, teams, and community contributors who have made a significant contribution to McKinney ISD Athletics.
