McKinney, Texas — Each year, McKinney ISD presents the Distinguished Student Award to outstanding seniors from McKinney High School, McKinney North High School and McKinney Boyd High School who have earned the highest level of achievement in various academic and extracurricular categories on their campus.

The Distinguished Student Award is the highest honor a student can receive from MISD. Only 15 seniors from each high school are presented with the award each year. In addition to academics, recipients are selected based on their overall commitment and dedication to one of the following areas: English, Science, Social Studies, Mathematics, Career & Technology, Foreign Language, Fine Arts, Athletics, another specific field of study (At-Large), and the Valedictorian and Salutatorian from each high school.

In addition to these exceptional students, MISD honors some of the district’s finest teachers. Each student was asked to select the teacher who made the most significant impact on his or her life. These dedicated teachers are honored with the MISD Inspirational Teacher Award.
