Eddins Elementary fifth-grader Kyler Stein is no stranger to facing down challenges. Before he had taken his first step, he had more than one to contend with. Now, rehabbing from a major surgery, he has been walking through a challenge greater than he has ever faced. But, he has never been one to quit, and he’s not about to start now.

This fall, officials of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) announced the names of 17 McKinney ISD seniors whose results on the 2019 PSAT/NMSQT have earned them recognition as Commended Scholars and eight who have earned the title of National Merit Semifinalist. In addition, the College Board announced the names of four MISD seniors who have earned distinction in the National African American Recognition Program and three who have earned recognition in the National Hispanic Recognition Program for their exceptional performance on the exam.
Walker second grader Ariana Chilcoat loves making what she calls "warm fuzzies," so she decided to make them for all of her classmates, and in the process, she spread a little happiness.
McKinney ISD students taking part in Advanced Placement (AP) exams in the spring of 2020 earned accolades from the College Board for their performance, with close to 900 students from McKinney Boyd High School, McKinney High School and McKinney North High School receiving recognition.
