The McKinney ISD Board of Trustees approved an employee compensation plan for 2018-2019 that includes a raise of 3 percent to the midpoint of pay range for employee salaries with a $500 mid-year stipend, a $1,800 flat raise for pay grades 1 and 2, a 6 percent raise for paraprofessional and other hourly support positions and an increase in the starting teacher pay to $54,350 which includes a $500 mid-year stipend.
On Thursday, April 5, McKinney ISD honored its Campus Teachers of the Year and announced the MISD Elementary Teacher of the Year, Tiffany Scott of Reuben Johnson Elementary, and the MISD Secondary Teacher of the Year, Joe Tomkins of McKinney Boyd High School.
At the 2018 YMCA Jr. Youth and Government State Conference, Dowell eighth grader Peyton Childs became the sixth MISD student in eight years to occupy the office of governor. Doing his part to keep that legacy alive, Davis Winn won his bid for the 2018-2019 governor seat. In addition, 22 other MISD students qualified for the state conference and earned a number of distinguished accolades.
McKinney ISD offers two summer camp options through the district’s Club 360 program. Club 360 Summer Camp (ages 5-12) and Club 360 Summer Jr. Camp (ages 3-4) offer students the opportunity to participate in weekly themed activities during the summer months. McKinney ISD graduation ceremonies will be held on Friday, June 8 at the Allen Event Center. Times are as follows:

Pre-K registration will be held at MISD’s Lawson Early Childhood School. Please note, your child must be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2018. Please remember that for the safety of our students and staff, all campus visitors must be identified using a valid ID prior to entering the building. Valid IDs include: a driver’s license, passport, MISD badge.
Also, please do not hold or prop exterior doors open when visiting a campus.
More than 230 MISD fifth graders earned honorable mention recognition in the regional MathCON online math competition. Eight of them qualified as finalists for the MathCON National Finals to be held in Chicago on May 5, claiming eight of the top 10 scores. Four other MISD students scored in the top 20 and are on the waitlist for Chicago.
