At its Dec. 17 meeting, the McKinney ISD Board of Trustees authorized a special “attendance credit election” to be held on May 2 that calls upon the community to vote for or against the method by which it makes mandatory payments to the state.
Evans Middle School Becomes a Force for Kindness
During the first week of February, Evans Middle School unleashed their school’s potential for kindness with the “Be a Force for Kindness” challenge. By the end of the week, students and staff had committed more than 5,000 intentional acts of kindness on their campus and collected close to 3,000 socks and toiletries to donate to charity.
AVID Students in MISD Outperform Peers Nationally in Completion of Advanced Placement Exams
Eighty-five percent of McKinney ISD seniors who participated in AVID in 2019 sat for at least one Advanced Placement exam, compared to the national rate of 39 percent.
