Bennett Elementary One of Only 31 Texas Campuses to Earn the 2018 Schools Transforming Learning Award from the Principals’ Institute
On Thursday, June 7, Bennett Elementary Principal Amy Holderman and Assistant Principal Rachel Constantinescu accepted the 2018 Schools Transforming Learning Award from the Principals’ Institute on behalf of their school at the PI Summer Conference. Bennett’s MakerSpace program and digital learning initiative are transforming the way students learn.

McKinney ISD held commencement exercises for McKinney Boyd High School, McKinney High School and McKinney North High School at Allen Event Center on June 8, 2018. In all, more than 1,700 students crossed the graduation stage.

It’s a tradition that has been in place for years: the MISD Senior Breakfast. Each spring, elementary schools across McKinney ISD invite graduating seniors back to the campus where they started their academic careers for one last visit.
Manhattan Construction and Stantec Architecture Reassure MISD Board that Stadium Concerns will be Addressed
McKinney ISD officials presented the MISD Board of Trustees with a construction update on the new McKinney ISD Stadium and Community Event Center at a special meeting on Tuesday, May 29. The district addressed concerns about cracks in the concrete on the home and visitor concourses; Manhattan and Stantec reassured the board members that the concerns would be addressed.
MISD Public Hearing for 2018-19 Budget and Tax Rate
The McKinney Independent School District will hold a public meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 in the Board Room at 1 Duvall Street, McKinney, Texas for comments regarding the school district’s proposed budget and tax rate for fiscal year 2018-19. Public participation is invited.
Glen Oaks AP Kimberly Luyster Chosen as New Principal of McGowen Elementary
McKinney ISD has chosen current Glen Oaks Assistant Principal Kimberly Luyster to be the new principal of McGowen Elementary. The move comes following the announcement that current McGowen Principal Jennifer Little will transition to Central Office as the district’s new coordinator of student assessment at the end of 2017-2018.
