MHS JROTC Cadet John Corcoran Earns National Army ROTC Scholarship Worth More Than $129,000 in Addition to Scholarship from The Citadel

On Monday, May 16, McKinney High School senior John Corcoran received a National ROTC Scholarship valued at $129,222. The scholarship will cover the cost of Corcoran’s first three years at The Citadel, and his fourth year will be provided for through the Citadel Service to Country 2026 Scholarship. Upon graduation, Corcoran will enter full time service as an officer in the U.S. Army.

MISD Google Drive – Important Policy Changes for Student’s Stored Data

Google has implemented new policies outlining storage limitations for schools. On July 11, 2022, all student MISD Google Drive accounts (including Gmail) will be cleared. Students are strongly encouraged to download files from these accounts prior to July 11 if there is anything that needs to be saved.

MISD Offers Online Resource “Keep Talking: Mental Health Awareness for Parents”

The Stock Market Game: MISD Students Sweep Podium at Dallas Regional

Three McKinney ISD Gifted and Talented 4th and 5th-grade teams—competing among 200 other groups—swept the podium in the Dallas Regional competition of the Stock Market Game. Those three teams also finished 7th, 9th, and 17th in the state, respectively, from among 1,350 other teams, across all competition grade levels.

MISD Names Dr. Ebonee King Principal of Valley Creek Elementary

Today, TEPSA (Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association) announced that Reuben Johnson Elementary Assistant Principal Rachel Corbin has been named the 2022 National Assistant Principal of the Year for Texas. But, Corbin won’t have much time to enjoy the award before her title changes from AP to principal. MISD has named Corbin the new principal of Press Elementary.
