Playground Makeover at Minshew (Video)
“One day I was playing with the kids at recess,” said Amanda Ellis, third grade teacher at Minshew Elementary, “and, we were using chalk to draw a hopscotch [game]. And, I said, ‘Why do we draw this every time? We need to have a permanent hopscotch.’”
So, the Minshew Elementary community joined together to paint interactive games onto the blacktop for the students to enjoy during recess. Ellis spearheaded the project that brought together students, parents, teachers and even students from other schools.
