New Substitute Orientation

Please complete the steps below only after receiving official notification from Human Resources to begin the new substitute orientation process.

All new and returning substitutes are required to complete this new substitute orientation by the deadline provided by the substitute office.

Step 1: Training

Reporting Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect

All school personnel are required to complete Reporting Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect training. Complete the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services’ (TXDFPS) Reporting Suspected Abuse or Neglect of a Child training here: dfps.state.tx.us.

Retain the Certification of Completion for submission in Step 3 below.

Epilepsy Foundation Seizure Training for School Personnel

All school personnel are required to complete the Epilepsy Foundation Seizure Training for School Personnel. Complete the training here: https://tinyurl.com/SchoolPersonnelOnDemand

Step 2: Required Documents

Complete and submit the documents below:

  • Acknowledgement of Alliance Direct Contracting Program
  • Confidentiality of Certain Personal Employee Information
  • Substitute Job Description
  • Policy and Procedures Acknowledgement
  • Technology Acceptable Use Policy Agreement
  • Substitute Handbook Statement of Receipt
  • Direct Deposit Form – (Optional)
  • Form W-4

Completed documents and two certificates of completion from Step 1 may be scanned and emailed to substitute@mckinneyisd.net. Photographs of documents will not be accepted.

Step 3: New Substitute In-house Orientation

Upon completion of Steps 1 and 2 you will receive an invitation to an In-House Orientation. Prepare to bring the following:

  • Click here to access Form I-9 Instructions.
  • Identification documents – Required to complete Form I-9 (See page 3 Form I-9 for list of acceptable documents.)
  • Social Security Card. Current legal name must be reflected.
  • Official college transcript with degree awarded (copy of high school diploma or official high school transcript, if non-degreed)
