Application Process

Senate Bill 7, from the 85th Texas Legislature, created a new requirement in Texas Education Code §21.009 for applicants for certain positions at school districts to provide a pre-employment affidavit disclosing whether the applicant has ever been charged with, adjudicated for, or convicted of having an inappropriate relationship with a minor. McKinney ISD has opted to require all applicants for employment with the district, including substitutes, to complete this form as part of the application process.

McKinney ISD is in compliance with House Bill 3, from the 86th Texas Legislature. All individuals being considered for employment will be checked against the Do Not Hire Registry prior to hiring.

Pre-Employment Affidavit

Texas Education Code requires applicants for certain positions for employment at school districts to submit a pre-employment affidavit disclosing whether the applicant has ever been charged with, adjudicated for, or convicted of having an inappropriate relationship with a minor. McKinney ISD has opted to have the pre-employment affidavit be a part of the employment application for all McKinney ISD applicants, regardless of position being applied for. This includes substitutes. Any applicant who is offered employment will also be required to complete a second notarized affidavit attesting to the same.

All volunteers and applicants for employment with McKinney ISD agree to a background check prior to beginning volunteer duties and/or employment. Volunteer and employment applicants who are minors, 17 or younger, must submit the Parent / Legal Guardian Authorization for Criminal Background Check form. Click here to access the form.

After the background check is completed, should there be a reportable incident in the report, the applicant will be able to view the record.
