Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)

House Bill 3 (HB 3) represents the new school finance bill that was passed by the 86th Texas Legislature in 2019. As part of this new legislation, funding formulas now include a reimbursement to districts to offer one free college preparation exam per student before he or she graduates in efforts to improve college, career, and/or military readiness.

On March 6, 2024, all MISD 11th graders will be administered at no cost the Scholastic Aptitude Test, or SAT, during their normal school day. The SAT is an assessment managed by the College Board that has been used as a college admissions test for nearly a century. The SAT measures literacy and writing skills and assesses how well a student analyzes and solves problems.
