2007-2008 Zoning Information
McKinney ISD opened two new elementary schools during the 2007-2008 school year. The District’s demographer continues to project growth at the rate of 1,500 or more students per year, necessitating continued construction at every level. However, the most significant growth continues to occur at the elementary level. As a result, Naomi Press Elementary School and McGowen Elementary School (see locations below) were constructed in order to relieve overcrowding at many elementary campuses.

The new plan was developed due to the opening of two new elementary schools for the 2007-2008 school year. The final plan approved was developed from two proposed plans. The district held two public meetings to allow public discussion about the plans.
