Citizens Bond Committee and District Delay Bond Election to Allow Further Analysis and Input

McKINNEY, Texas – McKinney ISD and its citizen’s bond committee, comprised of McKinney ISD parents and community members, have opted to hold off on a possible bond election in November to allow for additional community input and to further analyze proposed expansions to McKinney High School and McKinney North High School.

McKinney ISD earns Recognized Rating from State

McKINNEY, Texas – McKinney ISD has earned the Recognized rating from the Texas Education Agency. Along with the district earning Recognized status, 96 percent of McKinney ISD campuses earned either Recognized or Exemplary ratings.

City Council passes citywide ban, supports state legislation
McKINNEY, TEXAS (July 21, 2010) – This week McKinney City Council approved an
ordinance to ban the sale and possession of a substance called K2. An approved
amendment to the current smoking ordinance immediately makes the sale, delivery,
offer, gift or possession of the restricted substance a misdemeanor punishable by fine.

Mary Clark named as new Deputy Superintendent for McKinney ISD

McKINNEY, Texas – Ms. Mary Clark, currently associate superintendent for learner services for Allen Independent School District, has been named the new Deputy Superintendent for McKinney Independent School District. Clark has served for 21 years in various school administrative positions ranging from campus assistant principal to associate superintendent.

McKinney ISD adopts Annual Budget, focuses on Operational Efficiencies

McKINNEY, Texas – The McKinney ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved the proposed 2010-2011 district budget of $183.8 million. The approved budget calls for no tax increase. The Board commended district officials for streamlining operations and for its cost-savings initiatives resulting in budget reductions. 

Principals named at Press Elementary, Valley Creek Elementary, and Webb Elementary
