New MISD 2007 - 2008 School Calendar

The McKinney ISD Board of Trustees approved a minor change to the approved 2007 - 2008 school calendar during its regular board meeting in July.

The change to the calendar involves moving one of the scheduled "Bad Weather" days from the end of the school year to Monday, April 14, 2008. A "Bad Weather" day is a student/staff holiday unless the district has to close the school during the school year because of bad weather. If school is closed due to bad weather, then the students and staff would have to attend classes on the "Bad Weather" day.

The district plans for two Bad Weather days when setting the school calendar. The second scheduled Bad Weather day for the 2007-2008 school year is Friday, June 6, 2008.

By moving the Bad Weather Day to Monday, April 14, 2008, the last day of school was moved back one day to Thursday, June 5, 2008. In addition, McKinney ISD teachers are scheduled for a Teacher Work Day on Saturday, June 7, 2008. If the district does not have to use the second Bad Weather day, then the Teacher Work Day will be moved to Friday, June 6, 2008.
