Thank you for your interest in substitute teaching. McKinney ISD strives to employ the most qualified applicant; therefore, applicants with valid teaching certificates will be considered first for substitute teaching positions. In addition to substitute teachers, McKinney ISD utilizes substitutes for paraprofessional staff (clerical and classroom aides) as well as nursing staff.
If you are a current substitute and would like to link to the MAC Web Center, click here.
Applications for substitute teaching are accepted throughout the year. All applications must be submitted through our online application system. To be considered as a substitute candidate, complete a Substitute employment application. Click here to access the online application system.
In order for your substitute application file to be considered complete, the following must be on file:
Applications will be reviewed by the Substitute Coordinator. Applicants selected as substitute candidates are required to be fingerprinted in accordance with Senate Bill 9 before attending a substitute orientation. The fingerprinting cost is $52.20 for Texas certified educators and $50.20 for all others.
In addition, applicants who do not hold a valid teaching certificate must successfully complete an online substitute assessment course before attending a substitute orientation. The online course is paid for by the District. Course information will be forwarded to those non-certified college-degreed applicants being considered for employment as a substitute.
McKinney ISD requires all substitutes to be at least 21 years of age.
