2016-17 Teacher Starting Salary

First Year Teacher - No Experience
Bachelor's Degree - $50,900
Master's Degree- $52,400

Starting salaries for all other newly employed teachers will be based upon consideration for experience and area of teaching specialty.

$500 District-wide Mid-year Stipend
Each full-time employee receives a $500 mid-year stipend**
This stipend is in addition to annual base salary
**Must be employed prior to October 1, 2016 to receive mid-year stipend

Additional Stipends
$1,500 Doctorate Degree Stipend
Many other applicable stipends

New Teacher Mentoring
The mission of the mentoring program is to recruit, develop, and retain quality educators. A mentor is provided for first year teachers for two years and for each veteran teacher for one year. Click here for more information.

9 – 12 teachers issued Apple MacBook or Hewlett-Packard Laptop

MISD Childcare Programs proudly offers childcare for MISD staff families. Children or grandchildren of current MISD employees may attend any of the four fantastic childcare programs! Programs are tuition based and are provided on all school days and required teacher/ staff work days. Day care provided for ages six weeks to pre -kindergarten age.
