
McKinney ISD teams with Durham School Services to transport students to school safe, on time, and ready to learn each day. Using 138 buses, Durham manages 80 regular routes, plus an additional 30 special education routes (Routes include combinations of Elementary, Middle School, and High School runs). Each day, approximately 8,600 students are scheduled for transportation in McKinney ISD through Durham School Services.
Durham School Services has a strong record of success and decades of experience in school transportation. Today, the company operates more than 13,500 school buses and serves more than 300 school districts in 29 states across the country. Durham has received over 25 awards and recognitions through the National School Transportation Association and School Bus Fleet magazine over the last seven years.
Each school district is required to conduct a training session for students and teachers concerning procedures for evacuation a school bus during an emergency. The training will be conducted twice each school year, with one training session occurring in the fall and one training session occurring in the spring.
