Purchasing

The MISD Purchasing Department is responsible for purchasing supplies, materials, equipment, furniture and services necessary for our schools and offices to function efficiently. The Purchasing Department coordinates all bidding for the district, purchases for new school openings and guarantees legal compliance of district purchases.

Departmental Responsibilities

The Purchasing Department’s various duties include:

  • Approve and Process Purchase Orders
  • Facilitation of Bids
  • Maintenance of Vendor Database
  • Furniture Procurement
  • District Copier Equipment and Copy Paper
  • Train and Assist Campus Secretaries/ Bookkeepers
  • New School and Renovation Purchases
  • Comply with State Purchasing Laws
  • Create and Update Warehouse Catalog
