The McKinney Police Department currently has four officers assigned to the School Resource Officer program.
These positions are funded by the City of McKinney.
They are in place to provide protection for the students and teachers, and to assist students in the day to day questions they might have regarding law enforcement.
The School Resource Officers also schedule assorted educational programs for the students.
The City of McKinney, the Police Department, and the McKinney I.S.D. are making plans to add officers as needed to insure the proper protection and education for students and teachers in the school district.
